Virtual Day

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2019

The virtual day format allows ASK teachers the opportunity to provide instruction in the case of school closure and maintain the momentum established in the classroom. Virtual day learning utilizes technology to create blended learning opportunities which will expose our students to avenues of learning beyond the traditional classroom.

The Virtual Day will be conducted through our student learning management system, Moodle.  It is the responsibility of the student to make sure that they are properly registered and have access to all their Moodle courses, as well as a reliable computer and internet connection prior to October 10th.

Structure of Classes:

  • Students will follow a Day 4 schedule and enter each of their Moodle classes from home at the specified time:
    • C Period: 8:30am – 9:25am
    • D Period: 9:30am – 10:25am
    • E Period: 10:30am – 11:25am
    • F Period: 11:30am – 12:25pm
  • Students will take an “Attendance Quiz” within the first 5 minutes that will confirm they are virtually present in each class.
  • Students will be given a Moodle Quiz and/or Assignment for each class to be submitted.
  • Teachers will provide specific instructions for their class.
  • The teacher will determine when the assignment should be submitted, either by the end of the class or by the end of the school day. Concerns regarding assignments should be emailed directly to the teacher.

Please note: Failure to complete the Attendance Quiz and/or Class Assignment will result as a documented absence for the student in the particular class.

Arabic & Religion Assignments: During blocks for Arabic and Religion classes, students will complete a pre-determined assignment. Assignments must be submitted in order to receive attendance credit for these classes.

If you have difficulty with passwords, contact our Technology Specialist Rafif Koteich (koteichr@ask.edu.kw).
