We will continue our NHS tutoring in the 2016-2017 school year. An official start date will be announced after the start of the school year.
NHS Study Hall is open to all students on Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:15 - 3:00.
Sundays: Study Hall
Mondays: Peer Tutoring
Wednesdays: Focused Topic Study Sessions
In Study Hall, you can do any or all of the following:
o Get help from NHS tutors
o Study or do homework
o Work on group projects
o Access computers
o Buy healthy snacks!
We encourage students to seek help from expert students who have experienced the classes before.
High School Principal Biography
Mr. Michael Murphy has 12 years of experience in education. Currently in his 8th year at ASK, he is committed to the students and providing them a sound learning environment. In his years in education, Mr. Murphy has taught High School history, government, sociology, Middle School history and math as well as serving as the Assistant Principal of the Middle School and High School at the American School of Kuwait. Mr. Murphy has taught in Arizona, Idaho and Kuwait. He holds a MA in Leadership Education from the University of Idaho.
High School Assistant Principal Biography
Ms. Jacqueline Thomas has 13 years experience in education. Currently in her 5th year at ASK, she believes in valuing each student’s individuality, educating through compassion and understanding, and maintaining open communication throughout the school. In her years as an educator, Ms. Thomas has taught a variety of age levels and subjects, including language arts, social studies, algebra, and art, as well as serving as a literacy coach at various international schools and as an assistant principal in Northern California. She has taught in California, Honduras, and Kuwait and graduated from the California State University of Chico.
