We will continue our NHS tutoring in the 2017-2018 school year starting on Sunday, September 10th.
NHS Study Hall is open to all students on Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:15 – 3:00.
Sundays: Study Hall
Mondays: Peer Tutoring
Wednesdays: Focused Topic Study Sessions
In Study Hall, you can do any or all of the following:
o Get help from NHS tutors
o Study or do homework
o Work on group projects
o Access computers
o Print
o Buy healthy snacks!
We encourage students to seek help from expert students who have experienced the classes before.
Mr. Michael Murphy has 13 years of experience in education. Currently in his 9th year at ASK, he is committed to the students and providing them a sound learning environment. In his years in education, Mr. Murphy has taught High School history, government, sociology, Middle School history and math as well as serving as the Assistant Principal of the Middle School and High School at the American School of Kuwait. Mr. Murphy has taught in Arizona, Idaho and Kuwait. He holds a MA in Leadership Education from the University of Idaho.
Ms. Monique Livsey is from Atlanta, Georgia and has 19 years of experience in education. She has been a part of the ASK community for the past 16 years, both as teacher and parent. She taught Mathematics at the American School of Kuwait for 6 years, and at the American University of Kuwait for 10 years. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Math Education at Vanderbilt University and later earned a Masters of Architecture Degree from GA Tech University. In her spare time she likes to spend time with her family, learn about new cultures, and travel.
Mr. Justin Hazel has over 18 years of experience in education. Mr. Hazel had taught in both secondary
and post-secondary school systems and is committed to provide each student with the opportunity to achieve academic excellence. Mr. Hazel has taught High School AP Statistics, Algebra, Trigonometry and college-level Calculus. Mr. Hazel has taught in Florida, Arizona, Republic of the Marshall Islands as well as Kuwait. He holds a BS in Social Work from the University of Montana as well as a MS in Mathematics from Nova Southeastern University. Mr. Hazel has also completed training in administrative leadership.
